This is Todd.
He’s a red fox and he’s the gorgeous, genius, little love of my life.
I taped this a day after he became mine, almost 8 months ago, and his first birthday is coming up in April (yay!).
Anyhow, he is the most brilliant creature I’ve ever met. He knows when he’s going to get in trouble, he’ll scream and run away (yes I have video of that on youtube as well), he knows when I’m home and knows when I’m watching. He craves affection and seems to pick up on human reactions before the person himself.
He’ll live to be around 14 years old, the life of an average dog.
His relatives will have a life about 2 years long.
Because for some reason it has become common to cage these brilliant, beautiful animals in the most horrific conditions, allow their failed free spirits to lead them to insanity, and then, to top it off, skin them alive to fashion into coats and leave the what’s left of them to die.
It is “sport” to trap them with unimaginably painful methods.
Because of us, they have no way to survive.
And this is why I will never wear fur.
